Discipline Plan

Rules

Students in third grade are expected to continue using the six pillars of good character.

Be Trustworthy                       Tell the truth

Be Respectful                          Use good manners

Be Responsible                        Show self-control

·        raise your hand when you should

·        stay in your seat

·        Keep your body and objects to yourself

Be Fair                                    Wait for your turn

Be Caring                                Use helping hands

                                                Use kind words

Be A Good Citizen                            Follow the rules

Consequences

Student behavior is monitored daily through the use of a color-coded card system.  A card is lost when a rule is not followed. 

Loss of a card means the following:

Green                             this is a warning

Yellow                           miss ten minutes of recess or time out

Blue                               miss all recess and fill out an “oops” sheet

Red                                miss all of recess, fill out an “oops” sheet, and sent to principal

*  “oops” sheets must be signed by a parent

Rewards

When students show good character, a postcard can be mailed home.  There will be early morning breakfast rewards throughout the year for students that receive a postcard in the mail.

Other rewards may be given in homeroom at the teacher’s discretion.
