Parent Pointers

1. WEEKLY NEWSLETTERS:  Please read the weekly newsletter sent home in each week's Friday folder or online. This newsletter contains detailed information about each classroom and is intended to keep parents informed of curriculum, upcoming dates, and so on.

2. AIR CONDITIONING:  Our rooms are air-conditioned. Students may need to bring a sweater or sweatshirt to school to wear if they get too cold from sitting in the line of cold air blowing from the vent.

3. PARENT VOLUNTEERS & VISITORS: Please enter the building at the main office entrance and sign in at the office to get your visitor badges. This is for everyone's safety. Parent volunteers may be needed from time to time to assist in activities, projects, math etc. Please sign up if you are interested is helping in any way.

4. QUIZ / TEST SCHEDULE: In Spelling, students will take a pretest on Wednesday of a regular week and a final test on Friday. It would be very beneficial for your child to review Spelling words during the week to prepare for these tests. In Math, students take a test after every five lessons. To study for Math tests, students can review previous tests, look back over the past ten lessons, or review their Math Help Spiral. In Science and Social Studies, an assessment will be given after each unit of study. Students should review the concepts to prepare for testing by studying the vocabulary, checking carefully over the study guide and looking over the unit in the book that is to be tested.
