sweatshirt
to school to wear if they get too cold from sitting in the line of cold
air
blowing from the vent. 3. PARENT VOLUNTEERS & VISITORS: Please enter
the building at
the main office entrance and sign in at the office to get your visitor

This is for everyone's safety. Parent volunteers may be needed from
time to
time to assist in activities, projects, math etc. Please sign up if you
are
interested is helping in any way. 4. QUIZ / TEST SCHEDULE: In Spelling, students will
take a pretest
on Wednesday of a regular week and a final test on Friday. It would be
very
beneficial for your child to review Spelling words during the week to
prepare
for these tests. In Math, students take a test after every five
lessons. To
study for Math tests, students can review previous tests, look back
over the past
ten lessons, or review their Math Help Spiral. In Science and Social
Studies,
an assessment will be given after each unit of study. Students should
review
the concepts to prepare for testing by studying the vocabulary,
checking
carefully over the study guide and looking over the unit in the book
that is to
be tested. 5. Guidelines for Studying
Spelling *Some students may benefit by putting all spelling words on
index cards
for practice at home. *Parents are encouraged to practice the spelling words with
their child.
However the following steps allow the child to practice spelling words
by
themselves. 1. Look at the word. 2. Copy the word. 3. Say the word aloud. 4. Spell the word aloud. 5. Write the word. 6. Check the spelling. 7. Repeat the process until
you can easily
spell the word. 6. Guidelines for Good
Homework Habits * Plan a daily homework time. * Take home everything
you'll need. * Choose a quiet study place. * Read and follow directions. *Do your work neatly and
carefully. * Ask for help if you need
it, but do the
work yourself. * Keep your homework in a
special place
and put it in your backpack as soon as you finish it. * Return your homework on
time. |
